Winter flu programme 2021

2021 Winter Flu Programme

All you need to know about our 2021 flu programme

This year it’s even more important to get a flu jab.

We have now completed our scheduled Drive-Through flu clinics, but you can still book an appointment to get your Winter Flu Vaccination with us.  Appointments will be offered as in-person walk in appointments at our surgeries in either Lake Road or Cranborne, whichever patients would prefer.

 Flu vaccination is important because:

  • more people are likely to get flu this winter as fewer people will have built up natural immunity to it during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • if you get flu and COVID-19 at the same time, research shows you're more likely to be seriously ill
  • getting vaccinated against flu and COVID-19 will provide protection for you and those around you for both these serious illnesses

If you've had COVID-19, it's safe to have the flu vaccine. It will still be effective at helping to prevent flu.

Book an appointment for a FREE Flu Jab now. We are pleased to advise that patients can book an appointment quickly and easily online.  Scroll down for booking information.

As a carer, you may be eligible for a free NHS Flu Vaccine

Anyone who receives a carer's allowance, a part-time carer or the main carer of an older or disabled person, or a young carer, is eligible for a flu vaccine from their registered GP or a pharmacy.

If the carer fails ill, the welfare of the person or persons they look after may be at risk.  Carers must be protected, so they can continue to give care to those they support and stay healthy throughout flu season.
