Online Services

Order Repeat Prescriptions Online

We are now able to offer you the opportunity for you to request repeat prescriptions online. If you would like to access our SystmOnline repeat prescription service please visit Cranborne Surgery or Lake Road Surgery with a form of photo identification and ask our receptionists for login details.

Parents or an adult with parental responsibility can obtain their child's username and password so that they can order repeat prescriptions on behalf of the child concerned. However, from the age of 14 years old an individual is deemed to be a "young adult" and will be able to obtain their own username and password. This is to enable a young adult to choose if they want to consult a doctor independently and confidentially.

Booking Appointments Online

We are now offering the ability for patients to book appointments online, this is still in its early stages so only a few appointments are being made available at the moment. The appointments are routine appointments only.

To access the appointments online please login using your SystmOnline login, which is the same login details as the online repeat prescription requests. If you don’t have a SystmOnline login please visit Cranborne Surgery or Lake Road Surgery with a form of photo identification and ask our receptionists for login details and once you have received these.

Cancelling Appointments Online

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason and you are registered to use SystmOnline, you can cancel your appointment using SystmOnline, this must be done 1 hour before your appointment time.

Viewing Your GP Health Record

We are now able to offer you the ability to view parts of your medical record, which is also accessed by logging into your SystmOnline account using the same login details for ordering prescriptions and booking appointments, if you would like access to your GP Health Records and you don’t have a SystmOnline login please visit Cranborne Surgery or Lake Road Surgery with a form of photo identification and ask our receptionists for login details and once you have received these, please login and request access to your Health records via your SystmOnline account, this will then be updated on your records once received by our staff.

Over The Counter Medicines (OTC)

The Cranborne Practice will no longer be prescribing Over the Counter medicines for a range of minor health conditions, as the NHS currently spends £136 million on prescriptions for medicines such as Paracetamol that can be bought over the counter at Pharmacies and Supermarkets.

By reducing the amount the NHS spends on OTC medicines, the NHS can give priority to treatments for people with more serious conditions, such as cancer, diabetes and mental health problems.

Please click here for more information and a list of minor health conditions you can by over the counter medicines for.

Guidance For Parents Asked To Provide A GP Note For School.

Please note that GP’s do not have a statutory duty to provide informal sick notes for children.  Your relationship with the school should be such that any concerns over a child’s absence can be resolved without the need for you or the school to ask your GP to provide any supporting evidence. For a copy of our Guidance please click here.
